Tecrar S1E3: New shops, milestones, and full mailboxes!

Greetings! Before you yell at me for not owning a calendar and not knowing when a Monday is, I want to preemptively defend myself. Last week was my exam week and Friday was the day I had to face my fears; namely, a vector calculus exam. Don't get me wrong, I like pretend to like calculus, but that doesn't mean I am good at finding the volume between two given surfaces. I took a week off to study. Then you may ask: "Okay Xiad, but why did you not start working on the post after Friday?" And that would be an incredibly valid question. Disregard what I said so far. Sometimes laziness is stronger than anything else. Let's hope I don't lose the momentum and I release the next post on time!

Now, time for last week's recap!

A giant, flying sign in the sky

In the last post I mentioned that I did not have the chance to login and check out the new stuff at the spawn, so I want to start this post with what I missed at the time. Starting off with Wolfboy248's Music Shop! You can now get your favorite tune built wherever you want! The shop states that there are no limitations on song length, though it may cost a fortune if you request a long one. (I was planning on requesting one of my favorite songs as my doorbell, but that will require a lot of digging.) As much as I like the idea for the shop, I find the proportion of the letters mildly OCD-triggering!

"In this world, it's either to kill or be killed." Got the reference? Anyone?

Speaking of new shops, introducing you the organic shop which I definitely did not forget the name of. Tired of the industrialization ruling the server, Animagician proceeds to build a shop where he sells organically-mined goods such as iron. That of course comes with a higher price and fails to compete with TecTower's iron monopoly, however knowing the tears and sweat that led to the collection of every single iron ingot makes the price more reasonable. I suppose the organic production is a good step to slow down global warming. In that sense the price is justified.

Oh, and, contrary to his good messages about the environment, he also causes an entire species to go extinct. (The dragon fight scenes are epic, so watching recommended!)

A weird hut started to spawn around the server. Who knows what it will bring...

I have no idea how I can make a smooth transition from the previous paragraph so I am adding this sentence here. You know what else is a smooth transition? The transition between bases and communal locations through the new nether hub system! As far as I know, amrluca is working on the centerpiece of the new hub on the nether roof so that the underground air traffic can be moved to the roof completely. This means quicker and easier flights between locations, but harder nether portal placements in the overworld. I would love to share a screenshot of it but i) I don't know if it spoils anyone's content and ii) I forgot to take a screenshot while I was there.

TECTHOR! YOUR MAILBOX HAS BEEN FULL FOR AGES!

Unfortunately that was all I had for this, well, last week! I want to conclude this post by congratulating TecThor for reaching a milestone: 500 subscribers! We had been playing together since pre-VMC days; and I always appreciated the effort he puts not only to his videos, but also to maintain the friendly environment he initially created. I really admire the content of our server's creators, and I am sure you will get the attention you deserve soon or later :)

For celebration TecThor uploaded a 500-subscriber special on YouTube and I encourage you to check it out. Did you already watch it? Then thanks for your support! You didn't? Well you are in for a treat! the server currently has multiple content creators which you can watch and enjoy!

This picture has nothing to do with the context, but the post felt empty without a photo here! It's at least nostalgic :/

There were not many video releases last week so that is all I can cover. That's why this was shorter than a typical blog post I share. Sorry for that! Now that we are halfway through the week, I can assure that there are exciting stuff I will cover on the next one. Until then, see you!

PS: For BLUFF bidders... Last-minute entries were open so XiadMabsax won 2 stacks of gold blocks from the auction, with a bid of 64 diamond blocks! This week, I don't even remember what BLUFF promises, so go check it out :P

  1. Look at that nostalgic Xiad photo in front of spawns beginnings with the mail office in the background. Thank you for a great read Xiad!
